On the southeastern shore of Cayuga Lake, looking north from east Shore Park.

Swimming at Treman State Park, just south of Ithaca, is a delight for the body on a hot summer day.
Women can legally go topless, if as the lifeguard says, "you behave yourself".

Hard to believe it... Ithaca Falls is right within the Ithaca city limits!

Ludgate Farms is a gravel-floored health food store just east of town where local berries may be found.
Here we found red raspberries, sour cherries (I ate the whole box!), gooseberries,
figs, black and red currants, blueberries and strawberries.

Piles of stone are everywhere in New York state ... what a great building material. *

Here, we are bush-hogging (clearing with a tractor and a pull behind heavy duty mower). We cleared two acres, in the middle of our total of seven acres.

More bush-hogging... here we are facing north. The solar house will be built in the distance,
at the far north end of our field, and the main windows will face south of course.

The "Sunset Trail" winds trough various habitats... wet and shady with ferns... sunny with raspberries... or dry and densely shaded.

Full Plate Farm Collective - Ithaca, NY - The Full Plate Farm Collective grows certified organic and biodynamic food cooperatively for the local community. Their four farms grow over 40 acres of vegetables and offer 300 CSA shares for the Ithaca area. They don't use synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, but rely on crop rotation, compost and cover cropping to maintain an ecological balance. Each farm grows different crops which are collected together for CSA distribution. Through our CSA we invite you to be a part of a larger community centered around healthful fresh food.
Narrow Bridge Farm Community Supported Agriculture - P.O. Box 6766, Ithaca, NY 14851. 607-277-6497. Narrow Bridge Farm is located on 4 scenic acres just 5 miles from downtown Ithaca. Throughout the growing season, over 100 families go to the farm to pick up the week's share of fresh, organic vegetables, herbs and flowers.

To enhance that connection they market their produce directly to consumers, through the Ithaca Farmers' Market and their farm's Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
